ABOUT MENTAL SQUARE ROOTS (Extracting ten square roots from ten different six-digit numbers - solutions with an accuracy of eight digits or up to five digits from comma)
(There will be two attempts at this category with different sets of questions each time.) Time: 15 Minutes
As in the following example the square root value of ten numbers will be found in mind. √530179
All numbers will be chosen randomly and each number will be six-digit (so there will not be any numbers of which the first digit is zero in the task of square root).
The solution will be the square root from that number with an accuracy of eight digits at maximum with being up to the 5th digit after the comma. However the 5th digit after the comma will be rounded off according to the 6th digit after the comma.
For the example, for√587247 the correct solution is 766.32042906..., the solution with 8 significant digits will be 766.32043 (not 766.32042). When the time is over announcement is made the competitors will put their pens or pencils down.
