Alberto Coto García is a mental calculator; the fastest person in the world in mental calculation, as his several Guinness Record make obvious, the most recent three of which were obtained at the Mental calculation World Cup in Leipzig, Germany, and his three medals (two gold and one silver) at the Mind Sports Olympiad in Istambul, Turkey, held November 1 and 2, 2008.He was born on Wednesday, May 20, 1970 in Lada de Langreo, a location in Asturias, Spain. At the age of five, assisted by his parents and siblings, he learned to count and soon awed his family by quickly calculating final points obtained at the end of each card game.
His university studies geared towards the world of Economy. His passion for the world of numbers and mathematics led him to work on algorithms in a self taught manner, becoming a world reference in the mathematics education and techniques for strengthening the mind.
Alberto began his career as a calculist in 1998, after obtaining first prize in a Spanish Television program called “¿Qué apostamos?”(What Do You Bet?). In 1999, he obtained his first Guinness record, developing a meteoric career which has led him to participate in international television programs, as well as offer conferences in the most select schools and colleges, as well as in the industrial sector.
